Wet weather causing major delays on valley highways

Wet weather caused major traffic delays Sunday night. Multiple crashes on Southern Nevada highways surely caused several headaches.

A crash blocked lanes on southbound Interstate 15 at Charleston Boulevard about 7:45 p.m., according to highway cameras. Another crash on U.S. Highway 95, also at Charleston, involved a jackknifed semi-truck about the same time and resulted in a river of red taillights.

Collisions are common during rainy weather due to slick roadways. Nevada Highway Patrol listed 10 active crash scenes in Las Vegas on its traffic monitoring website shortly before 9 p.m.
