Woman arrested in fatal 5-car crash near McCarran

A 39-year-old woman who was involved with a fatal 5-car crash on Aug. 10 near McCarran International Airport has been arrested, Las Vegas police said.

Angela Bashay was driving a 2011 Honda Pilot that morning east on Sunset Road, near the intersection of Paradise Road, when she rear-ended a 2003 Nissan Altima. The impact caused the Nissan to hit a traffic signal pole and the Honda overturned, hitting three other cars.

"The collision ultimately took the life of 39-year-old mother Christine Robinson," Metro said in a news release.

Bashay had minor injuries.

Police said Bashay was traveling more than 80 mph at the time of the crash.

Bashay was booked Wednesday on one felony count of reckless driving involving death, police said.

This incident remains under investigation.
