Woman dies after being hit by motorcycle in North Las Vegas

A pedestrian struck by a motorcycle in North Las Vegas late Monday died of her injuries.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old woman, was hit by a motorcyclist in the area of Lake Mead Boulevard and Civic Center Drive about 8:30 p.m., North Las Vegas police spokesman Aaron Patty said.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition where she was later pronounced dead, police said.

Police said the man on the motorcycle was heading east on Lake Mead from Civic Center when he struck the woman, who appeared to be crossing the roadway. It’s unclear whether she was in a marked crosswalk.

The motorcyclist was also taken to UMC, where he was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. Police said alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The woman will be identified by the Clark County coroner once her family has been notified.
