Woman killed in Monday night auto-pedestrian accident

A woman is dead after a Monday night auto-pedestrian accident in the southwest valley.

Las Vegas police responded at 10:21 p.m. to South Durango Drive, north of Paddle Wheel Way, between Desert Inn Road and Sahara Avenue, where a woman was struck by an SUV while crossing outside of a crosswalk.

Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicate that the 49-year-old pedestrian was crossing Durango from east to west when she was struck by a 2000 Ford Expedition traveling south on Durango, in the right lane.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The driver of the Expedition, a 22-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.

The woman’s identity will be released by the Clark County coroner after her family has been notified.

This is the 46th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
