Deadly plane crash in Laughlin was Phoenix-bound, FAA says
A small plane that crashed in Laughlin on Sunday, killing one, went down soon after taking off, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The single-engine Rockwell Commander was flying from the Laughlin-Bullhead International Airport to the Phoenix Goodyear Airport when it crashed about 6 p.m., FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said Monday. It went down in Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area, just off Needles Highway.
One person died and three were hurt. Their identities have not been made public.The crash sparked a brush fire that was handled by the Clark County Fire Department.
Las Vegas police responded but the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board took over the investigation.
