An inmate died Thursday in Indian Springs, the Nevada Department of Corrections announced Friday.
Dale Prater, 60, was housed at the High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs, the corrections department wrote in a release.
Prater was committed from Washoe County and was serving a sentence of 12 to 30 months for possession of a controlled substance for sale. He had been in prison since May 21.
The Clark County coroner’s office will determine Prater’s cause and manner of death. His next of kin had been notified, the release said.
