Inmate walks away from Jean Conservation Camp

Police are looking for an inmate who walked away from a minimum-security facility in Jean on Tuesday, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Mary Mitchell, 44, was discovered missing about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday during a count at the Jean Conservation Camp.

She arrived at the camp on Nov. 24 from the Florence McClure Women's Correctional Center and was serving 20-50 months for grand larceny, theft and burglary, according to a release from the corrections department Wednesday.

Mitchell is 5 feet 4 inches tall, with brown eyes, dark brown hair, a slender build and multiple tattoos, according to the release.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or their local law enforcement agency.
