Man, 20, seriously injured after being thrown from car

A man is in serious condition after he was thrown from a car that overturned Tuesday night near Fort Apache and Warm Springs roads, according to Las Vegas police.

A 2008 Volkswagen New Beetle was traveling south on Fort Apache about 11:30 p.m. when it went off the west end of the road and hit a steep rock and dirt embankment. The car overturned and traveled east over the road.

The 20-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger were thrown from the vehicle during the rollover.

The driver was airlifted to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The passenger suffered minor injuries.
