Air quality advisory issued for Las Vegas Valley

Updated December 26, 2017 - 10:51 am

An air quality advisory has been issued for the Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday.

The Clark County Department of Air Quality said stagnant air conditions will leave high levels of fine particles in the air throughout the day. Officials say the small particles can aggravate young children and senior citizens and those with respiratory problems or cardiac disease.

Tuesday’s forecast high is 63 degrees and winds will stay light through Thursday afternoon.

Highs should climb to 65 on Wednesday and 66 on Thursday, the weather service said.Average temperatures for this time of year are usually in the mid-to-upper 50s.

The valley’s record-breaking dry streak should continue with no rain forecast through Saturday. The valley has gone 104 days without rain, breaking the 101-day streak set in 1944.

Updates on air quality can be found at www.redrock.clarkcounty.gov/forecast.
