Cooler temps coming to Las Vegas Valley this weekend
The Las Vegas Valley will see sunny skies and below-normal temperatures through the weekend and into next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday saw a high near 102 degrees and a low near 80 degrees, according to the weather service.
Henderson unexpectedly saw some heavy rains and was under a severe thunderstorm warning around 1 p.m. Thursday, meteorologist Jim Harrison said. At least two trees in the Green Valley area were blown over due to the 60 to 70 mph winds from the thunderstorm, he said.
Friday’s high is forecast at 101 degrees and skies will be sunny, according to the weather service.
Windy conditions, with gusts up to 30 mph, are expected Friday through Sunday.
Saturday cools down slightly with a high of 98 degrees. Sunday and Monday should have highs of 93 degrees, a few degrees below normal, Harrison said.
