Cooler temps, wind sticking around Las Vegas area

Las Vegas temperatures will drop slightly before warming up by the weekend.

The high temperature Tuesday is expected to be 65 degrees, and the high Wednesday is expected to be 68 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. After that, temperatures are expected to rebound into the 70s, with a high of 74 degrees forecast for Thursday, 77 degrees on Friday and Saturday, and 76 on Sunday, NWS meteorologist Caleb Steele said.

Winds speeds are expected between 15 and 20 mph Tuesday with gusts up to 30 mph, Steele said. A wind advisory was issued for the Lake Mead area, but not for Las Vegas, he said.

Rain is not expected this week in the Las Vegas Valley, Steele said. Some higher, thin clouds are expected Tuesday, but skies will still be sunny, he said.
