Gusty winds moving into Las Vegas Valley

Gusty winds and below-average temperatures will usher in the first weekend of December.

Thursday’s high reached 57 degrees with winds between 15 and 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday will be more windy with 20 to 30 mph winds and gusts up to 40 mph in parts of the valley, according to meteorologist Andy Gorelow. The high will be about 54 degrees.

A dust advisory will be in effect from Friday to Saturday because of the high wind speeds. Under windy conditions it may be best for sensitive groups of people such as children with bronchitis, the elderly and people with lung or heart disease to stay indoors due to airborne dust, Clark County public information officer Stacey Welling said.

Winds should calm down Saturday with 10 to 20 mph breezes from the north. A high temperature of 56 degrees should be expected, according to the weather service.

Sunday will have a high of 59 degrees, Gorelow said.
