High temperatures to stay in the 90s this week
The Las Vegas Valley will bask in warm temperatures in the 90s through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
The valley had hazy skies on Labor Day, thanks to wildfires burning in Southern California.
The Clark County Department of Air Quality issued a smoke and ozone advisory for Sunday and Monday due to wildfires burning in Central and Southern California.
The county said a moderate level of smoke and ozone had been expected to infiltrate the valley Monday, a condition that may cause health issues for people who have respiratory issues such as asthma, cardiac disease, or for the very young or very old.
Monday saw a high of 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tuesday and Wednesday should each see a high of 96 degrees, followed by a high of 98 on Thursday and 99 on Friday, meteorologist John Salmen said.
Labor Day saw “light winds” below 15 mph in the valley, Salmen said. He said Tuesday can expect “the same story.”
The valley should stay dry for the rest of the week, with no rain in the forecast, Salmen said.
