The Las Vegas Valley will get a small break from the heat at the beginning of the week, but temperatures will start rising again soon, the National Weather Service said.
Monday’s high was 88 degrees with a low of 69 degrees, meteorologist Jim Harrison said.
Tuesday’s high will drop to 82 degrees with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms likely in the Spring Mountains and Mount Charleston, he said.
Wednesday is expected to have mostly sunny skies and warm up again to hit a forecast high of 89 degrees, Harrison said. Then temperatures will rise again to 95 degrees on Thursday.
By Friday, the valley may see some strong winds with gusts up to 35 mph, and slightly cool down with an 89-degree high temperature.
