Rain, wind back in the forecast for Las Vegas Valley

Wind and rain are in store this Halloween weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

A 40 percent chance for showers is forecast for Friday, meteorologist Chris Outler said. Any rain should disappear by Saturday morning.

Friday is expecting a high of 79 degrees, same as Thursday’s high. Friday afternoon winds will be between 15 and 25 mph, Outler said.

Saturday and Sunday also will be windy with possible gusts up to 40 mph. Saturday’s high is expected to reach 81 degrees, with Sunday’s slightly cooler at 79 degrees, Outler said.

A storm expected to move into the valley next week could cause temperatures to drop below normal, Outler said, noting Monday’s high is forecast at 73 degrees.
