Still hot as temps drop slightly in Las Vegas Valley

Following a streak of several days with highs above 110 degrees, temperatures are expected to drop slightly in the Las Vegas Valley— at least temporarily, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday saw a high of 109 degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Harrison said. Friday and Saturday’s high should be 108. A high of 110 is expected for Sunday and Monday.

No rain is expected over the weekend, but a system of moisture could be moving in by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, Harrison said.

Thursday saw light winds with gusts up to 15 miles per hour. Friday night is expected to be breezy with winds up to 20 mph.

There is a chance there could be another heat warning next week, though it won’t be as hot as the latest one, meteorologist Reid Wolcott said.
