Strong, gusty winds start Las Vegas weekend, rain possible Monday

The Las Vegas Valley will see strong winds this weekend with a chance of rain early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday is expected to have a high temperature of 90 degrees and a low of 61 degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist Caleb Steele said. The low temperature may stay a bit warmer into the evening if the wind sticks around.

“There is a wind advisory from 3 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday,” Steele said. “Wind speeds will range from 25 to 35 mph with gusts in the 40s.”

Saturday is expected to have a high temperature of 78 degrees and Sunday to see 81 degrees, he said.

Moving into Monday, “there is a 20 percent chance of rain,” Steele said. The high temperature is expected to be 70 degrees, while on Tuesday see a high of 72 degrees.
