Temps warming up through the weekend in Las Vegas Valley

Temperatures in the Las Vegas Valley will rise through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday’s high should reach 49 degrees, with breezy winds between 15 and 25 mph.

The forecast high is 53 degrees on Saturday, and 57 degrees on Sunday. By next week, temperatures should reach the low 60s, the weather service said.

Some clouds but no rain is forecast for the weekend, meteorologist John Salmen said.

With the the warming weather and winds in the Spring Mountains, Mount Charleston has issued an avalanche warning for visitors, Clark County spokeswoman Stacey Welling said.

“Windy conditions near ridges could destabilize the snowpack, increasing avalanche threat,” Welling said in a press release.

Visitors are encouraged to avoid areas with slopes of more than 30 degrees, Welling said. Visitors should instead stick to groomed areas and make sure to carry supplies such as tire chains, a cellphone, flashlight, ice scraper, snow shovel, jumper cables, blankets and a first aid kit.
