Wind advisory issued for Spring Mountains

It's probably not the best day for outdoor activities in the Spring Mountains.

Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston might see wind gusts between 40 to 50 mph Monday afternoon, National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Outler said. A weather service-issued wind advisory is set to expire at 10 p.m.

The wind shouldn't be "particularly dangerous," Outler said, but warned that loose objects and small tree branches might take flight.

Las Vegas will also be gusty, especially in the south and west valley, Outler said. Winds there should reach 30 to 35 mph.

Temperatures in the valley aren't expected to go over 68 degrees, Outler said.
