Winds, clouds move into Las Vegas Valley along with hot temps
Triple-digit temperatures continued to bake the Las Vegas Valley on Thursday, but the weather won’t be quite as hot Friday and over the weekend, the National Weather Service said.
Thursday saw a high of 107 degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Harrison said. Overnight, temperatures are expected to dip to 79 degrees.
Temperatures will drop on Friday with a high of 100; 90s are expected for the weekend.
A wind advisory was issued for Lake Mead National Recreation Area from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, and the valley experienced winds from 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 mph, Harrison said. The weather service expects a similar wind pattern Friday.
The area saw some high clouds Thursday, but rain was not expected in the valley, Harrison said. Chances for showers in the Spring Mountains will come Friday, but they are unlikely to reach Las Vegas.
