Nixon, Cimarron-Memorial roll to first win

Stephen Nixon rushed for three touchdowns to lead Cimarron-Memorial to a 46-6 rout of visiting Desert Pines on Friday.

Nixon had touchdown runs of 34, 65, and 64 yards to lead the Spartans to their first win of the season.

Kenneth Banks returned an interception 64 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter and James Poole returned a block punt for a touchdown in the third for Cimarron-Memorial (1-2).

Nixon finished with 184 yards on 11 carries. Derrick Shaw led Desert Pines (0-2) with 46 yards rushing on 13 carries.
