Sullivan leads second-ranked Desert Shields over Canyon Springs

Marcus Sullivan rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries as second-ranked Cheyenne (3-0) routed host Canyon Springs (0-2) 56-12 on Friday night.

Sullivan had touchdown runs of 77 and 90 yards for the Desert Shields, who scored on their first four possessions and finished with 446 yards rushing.

Canyon Springs’ DeShaun Stewart had an 88-yard kick return for a touchdown in the second quarter. But Cheyenne’s Terrence Brison returned the ensuing kickoff 89 yards to score.
