Williams’ big night paces Valley

Kerwynn Williams scored on a 29-yard run late in the first quarter and had an 87-yard punt return for a touchdown three minutes later to help Valley to a 53-32 road win over Western (0-2) on Friday night.

The Vikings (2-1) jumped to a 26-0 lead. Williams finished with 157 yards on seven carries.

Western’s Dante Warren caught a 2-yard TD pass from Terryon Marion on the final play of the first half for the Warriors’ first points, and Giovan Grant opened the second half with a 73-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to make it 26-12.

But Valley scored the next 27 points to build a 53-12 lead. Included in the scores were a 47-yard run by Williams and a 64-yard interception return by Dominick Orr.
