Outlook: Concepcion inherits a squad that returns six starters and is hungry for success.

“We have quite a few seniors that we would like to go out as winners,” said Concepcion, who added that Hallenback “has the talent to play Division I baseball.”

Still, with Faith Lutheran, Spring Valley and Sierra Vista all in the same league, the road to an improved record won’t be an easy one.

“We’re looking to develop this program into a baseball powerhouse and bring back the Desert Shields’ pride,” Concepcion said. “Lots of work ahead.”
