ROUNDUP: Escamilla leads Vikings past Sundevils

Winning pitcher Hansel Escamilla went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs Tuesday to help Valley’s baseball team to a 13-9 win over visiting Eldorado.

Eric Herring was 3-for-3 with a triple, and Marcus Mejia had a three-run double for the Vikings.

Alan Guerrero slammed a three-run homer in the sixth inning for Eldorado.

Chaparral 11, Canyon Springs 1 — At Chaparral, Jordan January and Elliott Aleman combined on a three-hitter, and the Cowboys used a five-run fourth inning to cruise past the visiting Pioneers in five innings.

Raul Jimenez belted a three-run homer, and Ricky Perez hit a two-run triple for Chaparral.

Kevin Rogers was 2-for-2 with a triple for Canyon Springs.

Desert Pines 14, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Robert Hernandez pitched a five-hitter with 13 strikeouts as the Jaguars beat Sunrise Mountain.

Jonathan Rodarte was 3-for-4 with a double, and Gerardo Cruz went 4-for-5 with a double for Desert Pines, which scored 10 runs in the seventh inning to secure the win.

Durango 11, Western 1 — At Western, Michael Sukeyasu blasted a two-run homer to help the Trailblazers past the Warriors.

Rick Gonzalez went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and John Conquy had two hits and two RBIs for Durango.

Sierra Vista 15, Clark 2 — At Clark, Nick Kingham had a two-run homer, and Scotty Tomassetti had three hits, including a triple, to help the Mountain Lions beat the Chargers in five innings.

Travis Pullen doubled twice for Clark.

Bishop Gorman 9, Bonanza 4 — At Bonanza, Johnny Field socked two home runs to lead the Gaels past the Bengals.

Joey Gallo homered, and winning pitcher T.J. White helped himself with a homer and a double for Gorman.

Kris Bryant homered for Bonanza.

Spring Valley 9, Desert Oasis 3 — At Spring Valley, Aaron Blair was 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Grizzlies past the Diamondbacks.

Blair also went the distance, scattering six hits and striking out six, to get the win.

Josh Schuster was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run, and Tyler Kartler, Camron Cole and Johnny Hernandez each added two hits for Spring Valley.

Zane Killebrew was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Desert Oasis.

Arbor View 7, Palo Verde 4 — At Arbor View, Nick Urban went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to help the Aggies beat the Panthers.

Winning pitcher Buddy Borden had nine strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings, and Zach Hartman picked up the save.

Cimarron-Memorial 13, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Travis Hendry was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs as the Spartans blanked the Rattlers.

A.J. Hernandez was 2-for-4 with a pair of triples, a run and two RBIs, and Tanner McAninch doubled and scored twice.

Shadow Ridge 9, Faith Lutheran 5 — At Faith Lutheran, Colt Stout was 3-for-4 with a homer, a triple and two RBIs, and Bruce Butler went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double and two RBIs to help lead the Mustangs past the Crusaders.

Caleb Summerhays and Nick Bata each hit a two-run homer for Faith Lutheran.

Legacy 23, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Pierce Skinner was 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs as the Longhorns blitzed the Desert Shields in five innings.

Joey Lauria and Courtney Woods each went 2-for-3 and scored two runs for Legacy.

Foothill 12, Pahrump Valley 2 — At CSN, Dylan Ellis went 5-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Falcons past the Trojans in six innings.

Jordan Stewart homered in both of his at-bats and drove in four runs for Foothill.

Sam Morrow was 2-for-3 for Pahrump Valley.

Boulder City 11, Tech 1 — At Boulder City, Nate Hafen went 2-for-3 with four RBIs to help the Eagles down Tech in five innings.

Ryan Bowen was 2-for-3 for the Eagles.

Ross LaMarca and Preston Swasey combined to allow just one hit, a leadoff infield single in the first inning.

Pahranagat Valley 24, Mountain View 8 — At Mountain View, Dustin Poulsen went 3-for-4 with two triples, four RBIs and four runs to lead the Panthers past the Saints in a game called in the top of the fourth inning because of darkness.

Kale Leavitt was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and four runs for Pahranagat Valley.

T.J. Engel drove in three runs for Mountain View.

Indian Springs 18, Henderson International 13 — At Indian Springs, Matt Johnson was 3-for-3 with four runs scored to lead the Thunderbirds past the Wolverines.

Dustin Smith and and Ben Kirby added three hits each for Indian Springs.

Chris Laliberte was 4-for-5 for Henderson International, and teammate Boomer Sherrill went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Trinity 16, Agassi Prep 6 — At Rivera Field, Avery Harden was 3-for-3 with two doubles to help the Thunder to the six-inning win.

Peter Armendariz went 2-for-2, and James Zaino doubled twice for Trinity.

Agassi Prep’s Terrell Kemp went 2-for-3.
