ROUNDUP: Gabby, Kris Soto help Foothill rally past Coronado from 12-2 deficit

Gabby Soto was 3-for-5 with four RBIs and scored the winning run on a slow roller in the bottom of the eighth Tuesday to give Foothill at 15-14 victory over visiting Coronado.

The Cougars scored twice in the top of the eighth to take the lead, but Foothill’s Kris Soto reached on an error and teammate Garret Dobrolecki walked before Gabby Soto’s triple tied the game.

Eduardo Yanez hit a slow roller to third base, and Gabby Soto beat the throw to the plate to score the winning run.

Coronado nearly ended the game on the 10-run rule, with Taylor Giordano’s grand slam highlighting a seven-run fifth that gave the Cougars a 12-2 lead.

Kris Soto homered with one out in the bottom of the fifth to extend the game, and the Falcons scored six runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to force the extra inning.

Gabby Soto had an RBI double in the seventh, and Dayton Kurian added an RBI single and scored the tying run on an error.

Kurian was 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBIs, and Jordan Stewart was 3-for-6 with two home runs and three RBIs for Foothill.

Miles Bice, Zane Korth and Chris Blake each went 2-for-4 for Coronado.

Liberty 12, Del Sol 11 — At Liberty, Chris Bradford lined a two-out double down the right-field line in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Danny Topps and Kainan Pickle and give the Patriots a win over the Dragons.

Bradford’s hit capped a five-run seventh for Liberty.

Marcus Rivera was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs, and Teddy Efthemeou went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs for Liberty.

Pickle and Topps each had a double for the Patriots.

Daniel Doph belted a grand slam, Joey Baggs homered, and Jeff Coon added two hits for Del Sol.

Canyon Springs 18, Sunrise Mountain 9 — At Canyon Springs, Kevin Rogers went 4-for-5 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs to help the Pioneers rally from a 9-2 fourth-inning deficit and down the Miners.

Tajh Kehoe went 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs, and Shaun Dungey went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs for the Pioneers.

Dungey and Rogers hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning.

Larry Dungey led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run for the Pioneers, who had 18 hits.

John Gomez was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Sunrise Mountain.

Silverado 13, Tech 3 — At Tech, Drew Robinson hit a pair of home runs during an 11-run first inning as the Skyhawks routed the Roadrunners.

Robinson had a two-run homer and a grand slam in the first inning.

Silverado’s Mike Meyers added a two-run homer in the second.

Justin Vasquez led Tech with a double and a two-run homer.

Rancho 16, Eldorado 5 — At Rancho, Brandon Pletsch went 3-for-3 with two home runs, three runs scored and five RBIs to help the Rams to the five-inning win.

Rancho trailed 5-3 in the fourth, but Roy Sipes led off the bottom of the inning with a solo homer to spark a nine-run inning.

Pletsch added a two-run homer, and Gabe Chavira blasted a three-run shot in the inning.

Winning pitcher Eric Holdren improved to 7-1 with eight strikeouts in the complete game, and also hit a double.

Alan Guerrero doubled twice and drove in two for Eldorado.

Green Valley 11, Basic 1 — At Basic, Nolan Kohorst tossed a five-hitter with no walks, and Chad Whiteaker belted a solo home run as the Gators cruised past the Wolves in five innings.

Anthony Uran, Bobby Shiroky and Rudy Strnad each doubled for Green Valley.

Chaparral 12, Desert Pines 2 — At Chaparral, Ciros Burdier and Garrett Munoz on a two-hitter to help the Cowboys beat the Jaguars in five innings.

Steven Colon had two doubles and three RBIs, and Mark Faranda and Jordan January each had a double and three RBIs for Chaparral.

Las Vegas 12, Valley 0 — At Valley, Erick Fedde threw a two-hitter to earn the win as the Wildcats routed the Vikings in five innings.

Robert Melendrez, Jesse Acosta and Xavier Palmer each had a double, Tim Daniels tripled, and Brig Jensen went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for Las Vegas.

Henderson International 25, Trinity 1 — At Henderson International, Chris Laliberte doubled twice, scored three runs and drove in two, and the Wolverines exploded for 12 runs in the bottom of the first en route to the easy win.

Winning pitcher Logan Christie went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Jay Sutorius and Keenan Gladd-Brown each scored four runs, Boomer Sherrill had a bases-loaded double in the first, and Charles Pachas supplied a double and three RBIs for Henderson International.

Avery Harden was 2-for-3 for Trinity.

Desert Hills (Utah) 9, Virgin Valley 3 — At Mesquite, the Thunder scored five runs in the first two innings on the way to the win over the Bulldogs.

Pahranagat Valley 14, Lincoln County 10 — At Alamo, Tyson Sparrow went 2-for-2 and drew two walks to help the Panthers down the Lynx.

Beatty 14-8, Round Mountain 2-2 — At Round Mountain, Isaias Flores went 5-for-6 with a triple and five RBIs to help the Hornets sweep the Knights.

Ramiro Hernandez was 4-for-6 with a double and RBI for Beatty.
