ROUNDUP: Koplow, Bulldogs down Legacy

Ricky Koplow went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Will Loucks was 2-for-3 with a solo homer to lead the Centennial baseball team to a 4-1 victory over host Legacy on Wednesday in a Southwest League game.

Cooper Powell tossed a complete game, yielding six hits with eight strikeouts and one walk to earn the win for Centennial, which got an RBI double from Brady Cook.

Joey Wright supplied two hits for Legacy, and Joey Ingarra and Garrett Christiansen each had a double for the Longhorns.

Cimarron-Memorial 8, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Josh Nuernberg allowed four hits and struck out seven in six innings, and Nick Borowski tripled twice as the Spartans defeated the Diamondbacks in a Southwest League game.

Borowski, Tanner McAninch and Jayson Hicks had two RBIs each for Cimarron.

Coronado 13, Del Sol 6 — At Del Sol, Chandler Blanchard belted a two-run homer, and Tyler Brown went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs to power the Cougars past the Dragons in a Southeast League game.

Miles Bice was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for Coronado.

Nick Trujillo finished with two hits and two RBIs to lead Del Sol.

Eldorado 11, Basic 9 —
At Basic, Brandon Gallegos doubled and finished with four RBIs, and the Sundevils outlasted the Wolves in a Southeast League game.

Anthony Lee was 3-for-3 with a triple and drove in three runs, and Hunter Robinson doubled twice for Basic.

Boulder City 10, Desert Pines 7 — At Boulder City, Mario Castanon hit a go-ahead, two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning, lifting the Eagles past the Jaguars in a Sunrise League game.

Desert Pines scored six times in the top of the fifth to take a 7-3 lead. Iquan Corsey, who finished 2-for-4, had the big hit in the inning with a two-run double. Juan Cruz was also 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Jaguars.

Tanner Howell hit a two-run homer in the first inning for Boulder City.

Western 12, Tech 1 — At Western, Josh Yocum went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBIs as the Warriors downed the Roadrunners in five innings.

Winning pitcher Daniel Carrillo struck out eight and went 2-for-3  with a double and two RBIs. Ryan Guay added a double for Western.

Elias Peinado hit a double for Tech.

Chaparral 4, Sunrise Mountain 1 —
At Sunrise Mountain, Tommy Crone doubled, tripled, scored a run and drove in a run to pace the Cowboys’ win over the Miners in a Sunrise League game.

Zack Harman added a triple for Chaparral.

Mark Nick O’Connor pitched a complete game for the Cowboys, scattering four hits and striking out nine.

Mojave 16, Canyon Springs 5 — At Mojave, Jordan Gainey went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Rattlers to a five-inning rout of the Pioneers.

Mike Confer, Andrew Ehrensaft and Tyler Ledgister each hit a double, and Cory Tobin supplied a triple for Mojave.

Joe Jackson hit a triple, and Tajh Kehoe doubled for Canyon Springs.

Pahrump Valley 6, Roosevelt (Colo.) 4 — At Pahrump, Carlos Rivera laid down a suicide squeeze in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game, and Dylan Ault’s two-run single gave the Trojans the victory. 

Ault was 2-for-4, and Devin Riley threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs.

Rancho 8, Northridge (Colo.) 4  — At Rancho, Keifer McLendon went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and three RBIs as the Rams downed the Grizzlies.

Chris Fitzpatrick was 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Rancho.

Peter Duvall finished 4-for-4 to lead Northridge.

Bishop Gorman 9, St. Francis (Calif.) 3  — At Gorman, Cadyn Grenier was 4-for-4, and Cole Krzmarzick tripled twice to lead the Gaels to a win in the Gorman Easter Classic.

Krzmarzick, Michael Blasko and Drew Newson each drove in two runs for Gorman.

Moapa Valley 13, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Jared Repp gave up three hits and struck out 10, and the Pirates shut out the Bulldogs in a Sunrise League game.

Chad Jones was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Jake Repp went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Moapa Valley.
