ROUNDUP: Morris walk-off homer allows Trailblazers to edge Grizzlies

Will Morris led off the bottom of the 14th inning Wednesday with a walk-off home run to left-center field that gave Durango’s baseball team a 3-2 home win over Spring Valley.

Morris also hit a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game 2-2, and was the winning pitcher after allowing one hit and striking out seven in seven innings of relief.

Tyler Kartler went 2-for-6 with an RBI double for Spring Valley.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Centennial 2 — At Centennial, Jonas Wellan’s two-run single in the top of the sixth pushed the Spartans past the Bulldogs.

Cody Clark went the distance to get the win, allowing no earned runs on three hits. He struck out five and walked three.

A.J. Hernandez was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Cimarron.

Adrian Rodriguez had a two-run double in the fourth to put the Bulldogs up 2-1.

Centennial’s Casey Moses allowed five hits in seven innings with five strikeouts.

Arbor View 13, Cheyenne 3 — At Arbor View, Jayson Hicks was 2-for-2 with two RBIs as the Aggies cruised to the five-inning win over the Desert Shields.

Evan McMahan went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Arbor View, and winning pitcher Mark Gederos allowed three hits and struck out five in four innings.

Faith Lutheran 10, Mojave 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Caleb Summerhays homered and doubled to lead the Crusaders past the Rattlers in five innings.

Blake Matthias tossed four innings of one-hit ball and struck out eight for Faith Lutheran.

Brenden Meyer hit an RBI triple for the Crusaders, who got a double and a single from David Edson.

Green Valley 7, Coronado 3 — At Green Valley, Evan Van Hoosier was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs to lead the Gators past the Cougars.

Alec Hutt was 2-for-2, and Jason Bradshaw and Cooper Manwarren each had an RBI double for Green Valley.

Chris Blake went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Coronado.

Silverado 11, Del Sol 2 — At Silverado, Wyatt Reid was 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs to help the Skyhawks top the Dragons.

Marty Sifuentes went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs for Silverado.

David Day was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Del Sol.

Liberty 14, Basic 4 — At Liberty, Marcos Rivera went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Michael Vargas was 2-for-4 with four RBIs as the Patriots beat the Wolves in five innings.

Danny Topps, Anthony Rush and Teddy Efthemeou added two hits apiece for Liberty, which scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.

Liberty’s Trevor Williams struck out seven in five innings.

Matt Dembinski hit a two-run homer for Basic.

Foothill 19, Tech 0 — At Foothill, Brandon Van Stone went 3-for-3 with a double to help the Falcons rout the Roadrunners in five innings.

Tim Dupuis added two doubles, and Anthony Lopez finished 2-for-2 with a double for Foothill.

Las Vegas 12, Chaparral 2 — At Chaparral, Xavier Palmer was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, and the Wildcats used an eight-run fourth inning to blitz the Cowboys in five innings.

Valley 6, Desert Pines 4 — At Valley, Marcus Mejia had an RBI triple to lead the Vikings, who used a three-run first inning to defeat the Jaguars.

Alex Tryon tossed a five-hitter, and Rich Sandoval and Rayce Rayos each had an RBI for Valley.

Cody Tolliver had two hits and an RBI for Desert Pines.

Rancho 21, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Justin Pankratz was 2-for-3 with a triple, a homer and four RBIs to help the Rams to the five-inning win.

Kevin Kline threw a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and also went 3-for-5 for Rancho.

Jason Turner, Scott Koenen and Eric Holdren each added two hits for the Rams.

Eldorado 29, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Johnny Wade fired a five-inning one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks as the Sundevils built a 20-0 second inning lead and blanked the Pioneers.

Chris Brown went 5-for-5 with five runs and six RBIs, and Eric Larsen, Lucio Arreola and Isaiah Hernandez each added three hits for the Sundevils. Nelson Herrera hit an inside-the-park grand slam for Eldorado.

Spring Mountain 20, Agassi Prep 8 — At Mountain Ridge Park, Francisco Monrroy was 2-for-4 and piitched two innings of one-hit ball with four strikeouts to lead the Eagles over the Stars.
