Gosse airs it out as Mustangs rout Calvary Chapel

The Meadows' Garrett Gosse passed for 448 yards and five touchdowns to guide the Mustangs (1-2, 1-0 2A Southern) to a 38-16 victory over visiting Calvary Chapel (0-3, 0-1) in the teams’ league opener Thursday.
Austin Brown made touchdown catches of 73 and 55 yards and Max Newman scored on receptions of 77 and 47 yards to spark The Meadows to a 32-16 lead at halftime.
The Mustangs, two-time defending 2A state champions, compiled a 542-210 yardage advantage, led by Gosse, who completed 24 of 33 pass attempts.
Calvary Chapel quarterback Cody Taylor was 10 of 24 for 103 yards and a touchdown, and he added 60 yards on 14 carries.
