Hosier has hand in 10 TDs as Panthers steamroll Carlin

Pahranagat Valley’s Cody Hosier threw seven touchdown passes, rushed for two scores and returned an interception for a touchdown Friday as the Panthers rolled to a 92-30 home victory over Carlin in a Class 1A state semifinal.
Pahranagat Valley advanced to the state title game Nov. 20 at noon at Arbor View.
Hosier completed 7 of 9 passes for 163 yards. He also had seven carries for 80 yards, with touchdown runs of 1 and 33 yards in the first quarter. He returned an interception 46 yards for a TD in the second quarter.
The Panthers completed nine passes in the game and all went for touchdowns.
Tyler Higbee had 12 carries for 110 yards and two TDs, caught four passes for 98 yards and four scores and threw a touchdown pass.
Higbee had touchdown catches of 23, 20 and 40 yards from Hosier, and a 15-yard TD reception from Austin Poulsen. Higbee also completed a 12-yard TD pass to Kade Wadsworth.
Hosier had a 39-yard TD pass to Wadsworth, an 8-yard TD strike to Poulsen and a 6-yard scoring pass to Kale Leavitt.
The Panthers scored six touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 68-22 lead at the half.
They held the Railroaders scoreless in the third quarter before allowing their first second-half touchdown of the season in the fourth.
Pahranagat Valley finished with 435 yards of offense, including 245 yards rushing. The Panthers ran 41 offensive plays with 12 of them going for touchdowns.
