Newton, Pirates down Enterprise

Moapa Valley's Matt Newton rushed for 146 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the Pirates to a 43-14 home win over Enterprise (Utah) on Friday.

Newton had first-quarter TD runs of 48 and 7 yards to help Moapa Valley take a 24-0 lead after the one quarter. He caught a 32-yard TD pass from Kelan Weiss in the second quarter, and had a 20-yard TD run in the third quarter.

Weiss completed 8 of 10 passes for 135 yards and two TDs. He had a 28-yard TD pass to Casen Lewis in the first quarter.

Jake Peace added a 20-yard TD run for Moapa Valley (1-2).
