Patriots start fast, rout Eldorado

Liberty's football team wasted little time Friday, scoring five first-quarter touchdowns on its way to a 54-0 win at Eldorado.

The second-ranked Patriots  (5-3, 3-0 Southeast) put up touchdowns on their three offensive plays, all within the first four minutes of the game.

Tyler Newman led the onslaught with 6-for-6 passing and 218 yards and touchdown passes to Drew Hladek, Deseon McQuaig, Bradley Viloria and Noah Jefferson. Kevin Verboonen stepped in during the second half and went 3-for-3 with 126 yards and touchdowns to Tyler Parvin and Ethan Dedeaux.

Calvin Tubbs led the rushing attack for Liberty with two touchdowns and 72 yards on three carries.

Liberty’s defense held Eldorado (1-6, 0-3) to 96 total yards of offense and forced four turnovers, including three fumbles.
