Six Mustangs rush for scores in rout of Eagles

Six players scored rushing touchdowns as The Meadows (2-6, 2-5 Division III Southern) routed visting Lake Mead (0-7, 0-6) 63-6 on Friday.

Sophomores Bryson Bickart and Nathan Devera ripped off touchdown runs of 73 and 83 yards, respectively. Bickart led the team with 141 yards and three scores on only three carries.

The Meadows feasted on good field position all night as the defense gave the Mustangs the ball in Lake Mead territory nine times, including four consecutive possessions in the first quarter. The Mustangs converted each of those opportunities into touchdowns, two each by Bickart and Chase Marrs, to build a 33-0 lead.

The defense held Lake Mead to only seven first downs for the game and forced four turnovers, highlighted by two Ethan Friedman interceptions.

For Lake Mead, Daniel Hunter rushed for 81 yards on 13 carries, and also recovered a fumble, blocked a kick and recorded a team-high 12 tackles. Quarterback Brenden LeBaron chipped in a touchdown run for Lake Mead.
