Skyhawks rack up 267 yards on ground, topple Gators

Green Valley (3-7, 1-5 Southeast) scored on the first play from scrimmage, but the rest of the game belonged to Silverado (6-3, 3-3) as the Skyhawks defeated the host Gators 23-12 on Friday.

Silverado rushed for 267 yards, led by Izaiah Thurmon, who had 202 yards on 18 carries, including a 45-yard TD. Steven Scamorza added 54 yards on 14 carries, scoring on a 5-yard run.

Green Valley’s Ryan Lopez had 66 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Andrew McGovern caught a 67-yard TD pass from Paul McKay to open the scoring.
