Weiss, Moapa earn first win
Moapa Valley's Kelan Weiss passed for a touchdown and rushed for two more to lead the Pirates (1-2) to a 48-7 road win over Kanab (Utah) on Friday.
Weiss had 13- and 9-yard TD runs in the second quarter to help Moapa Valley take a 27-7 halftime lead.
Weiss, who completed 12 of 17 passes for 227 yards, also threw a 15-yard scoring strike to Hayden Cooper in the third quarter.
Cooper tossed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Casen Lewis in the first quarter. Lewis finished with six catches for 155 yards.
