Michael Hills carded a 7-over-par 78 at Needles Municipal on Tuesday to help Needles capture the Class 2A Southern League boys golf title.
Hills won the individual title on the fourth hole of a sudden-death playoff against White Pine’s Ty Pickel.
He helped the Mustangs to a team score of 421. Lake Mead was second at 436 with White Pine third at 439.
The top three teams and top five individuals from non-qualifying teams advance to next week’s state meet.
Needles’ Darren Wilson and West Wendover’s Will Doudy each shot 80.
The Meadows’ Ian Onufrieff (83) and Thomas Isaacs (87); Round Mountain’s Dan Sweeny (87); and Mountain View’s Dennis Bee (88) and Keith Flowers (88) joined Doudy as individual qualifiers.
