3A STATE GOLF: Baeza, Virgin Valley take first round lead
Virgin Valley’s Felisha Baeza carded a 13-over-par 85 at Boulder City Municipal on Wednesday to take the lead after one round of the Class 3A girls golf state tournament.
Truckee’s Annika Nousiainen is second at 89, followed by Boulder City’s Indiana Mead (90), Virgin Valley’s Hannah Bulloch (93) and Boulder City’s Briana Morang (97).
Virgin Valley has a commanding lead at 392, followed by Spring Creek (423), Lowry (451) and Yerington (491).
The final round tees off at 10 a.m. Thursday at Boulder Creek.
