ROUNDUP: Luke’s first-half goal helps Spartans shock Panthers

Jaymee Luke’s goal from 15 yards out midway through the first half Friday allowed Cimarron-Memorial’s girls soccer team to stun host Palo Verde, 1-0.

Luke took a pass from Mariza Sanchez, dribbled through two defenders and fired a shot into the net.

Celene Johnson earned the shutout for the Spartans.

Centennial 0, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Centennial, the Bulldogs and Mustangs played to a scoreless draw.

Centennial’s Natalie Gilbertson and Shadow Ridge’s Dallas Gunny each made one save.

Cheyenne 5, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, Adrianna Basin scored three times to help the Desert Shields cruise past the Longhorns.

Deborah Chinchilla added two goals for Cheyenne, which got two assists each from Samantha Floyd and Mackenzie Smith.

Nadia Hernandez scored Legacy’s goal.

Arbor View 9, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Falon Miller had two goals and an assist, and Deztanie Villafane and Haley Vicente each scored twice as the Aggies blitzed the Rattlers.

Jordan Harden, Chandler Yoder and Dakota Blazak each added a goal for Arbor View.

Kyla Salazar and Hayley Fife combined on the shutout.

Clark 1, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Azucena Bernal’s first-half goal stood up as the Chargers nipped the Diamondbacks.

Keri Thacker recorded the shutout for Clark.

Spring Valley 5, Bonanza 0 — At Spring Valley, Bailey Boyack had two goals and an assist, and Samantha Boeddeker scored twice as the Grizzlies blanked the Bengals.

Madisyn Delaney also scored for Spring Valley.

Megan Delaney made five saves en route to the shutout.

Sierra Vista 6, Western 0 — At Sierra Vista, Sophia Omidiji tallied three goals to lead the Mountain Lions past the Warriors.

Courtney Shay added two goals, and Elise Aguirre also scored for Sierra Vista, which got two assists from Claudia Reyes.

Cypress Whipple was in goal for the shutout.

Bishop Gorman 7, Durango 0 — At Durango, Haley Wingender racked up three goals and two assists as the Gaels routed the Trailblazers.

Mia Moore added two goals and an assist, and Charlotte Brascia and Sierra Doehrmann also scored for Gorman.

Sam Higgins and Angelica Pawlowski combined on the shutout.
