Green Valley
Welcome to “Championship Week.”
The prep football season is winding down, and four title games are on the docket this week. Most of them are taking place up north, and that means it’s time to pack a heavy coat and jump in the car.
Logan Houck, David Miller and Dylan Sweikert each won one individual event and swam on two victorious relay teams Saturday to help Palo Verde’s boys swimming team to a 174-120 win over Legacy at Pavilion.
Olivia Johnson, Tonicia Thomas and Astrid Villegas each won two individual events Saturday at Multi-Generational to help Rancho’s girls swimming team defeat Liberty, 137-107.
Cade Adams could be at the top of any pitching rotation in Southern Nevada, but the 6-foot-2-inch sophomore doesn’t mind waiting his turn on the Desert Oasis baseball team behind seniors A.J. Landis and Nolan Kingham.
Amanda Pryor tossed a five-hitter and struck out eight Saturday to lead host Pahrump Valley’s softball team to a 9-0 win over Boulder City.
Green Valley’s boys track team didn’t win a single event Friday.
