Third consecutive shutout sends Basic to 18th straight baseball victory

Josh McLean pitched a four-hitter and hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning, and Basic blanked Green Valley 3-0 on Thursday. The third-ranked Wolves have not allowed a run since Foothill scored in the fourth inning of a 7-2 Basic victory on April 8, a span of more than 24 innings.

SOFTBALL: Corn, Falcons down Coronado with four-run sixth

Jordan Corn went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and five RBIs on Thursday, and host Foothill’s softball team scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to top No. 2 Coronado, 11-9.
