Taylor Barnum scored 15 points to power Virgin Valley’s girls basketbal team to a 48-42 road victory over Boulder City on Thursday.
Tyree Hayes had 21 points on Thursday, and Sunrise Mountain’s boys basketball team held on for a 75-70 road win over Moapa Valley in Overton.
The Grizzlies return seven letter winners and should again be among the state’s top teams.
Kevin Benoza had 144 yards rushing and a touchdown on 18 carries, and Clark Genneken added 58 yards rushing and two touchdowns on seven carries to lead the Grizzlies to a 27-8 home win over Clark on Friday night.
