SOFTBALL: Ferguson, Basic rout Gators

Alyssa Ferguson tripled twice and drove in four runs to lead Basic’s softball team to a 12-2 road victory over Green Valley on Wednesday.

Sanoe Helenini went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and an RBI for the Wolves, who scored five runs in the top of the seventh to pull away.

Lexie Edmunds went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Basic, which led 6-1 after three innings.

Alexa Blazek was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Green Valley.

Rancho 6, Silverado 3 — At Rancho, Samantha Pochop went 3-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Rams over the Skyhawks.

Tiare Lee was 2-for-3 with a double, and Jahnae Davis-Houston went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Rams, who scored four runs in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie.

Jaime Gonzalez was 2-for-2, and teammate Mary Gregorich went 2-for-3 for Silverado.

Sunrise Mountain 9, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Andrea Garner pitched a three-hitter as the Miners routed the Dragons.

Garner struck out 12 and went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Amy Locklear doubled for the Miners, and Zoey Ruiz was 1-for-2 with a RBI for Sunrise Mountain.

Boulder City 13, Tech 2 — At Boulder City, Kylee Hamel and winning pitcher Bailey Bennett-Jordan each had three hits and three RBIs as the Eagles routed the Roadrunners in five innings.

Bennett-Jordan threw a four-hitter and struck out six.

Charlene Masterson added two hits for Boulder City.

Moapa Valley 10, Chaparral 0 — At Overton, Kyla Shumway was 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run and two RBIs as the Pirates defeated the Cowboys in five innings.

Kessa Evans added two RBIs for Moapa Valley, which scored five runs in the bottom of the first.

Daesha Stastny allowed one hit in four innings with nine strikeouts to get the win.

Foothill 15, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Makenzie Andrews tossed a five-inning three-hitter to lead the Falcons by the Sundevils.

Haleigh Olive had two hits and two RBIs for Foothill, which scored eight runs in the fourth inning.

Alexis Farias and Caitlyn Stevenson each added two hits for Foothill.

Virgin Valley 16, Desert Pines 2 — At Desert Pines, Tylee Robison drove in six runs to help the Bulldogs to the five-inning win over the Jaguars.

Savannah Price was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Kezney Crompton went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Virgin Valley.

Adri Wakefield threw a two-hitter with six strikeouts to get the win.

Valley 14, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, Marissa Espinoza went 5-for-5 as the Vikings downed the Pioneers in five innings.

Monique Beaudry added three hits and two RBIs for Valley.

Shannon Williams tossed a four-hitter and struck out two for the Vikings.

Durango vs. Liberty — At Liberty, the game between the Trailblazers and Patriots was postponed because of a transportation issue.
