ROUNDUP: Taylor, Epperson help Bengal boys tackle Diamondbacks

Jayveon Taylor and Logan Epperson won two events apiece to lead Bonanza’s boys track and field team to a 93-52 home victory over Desert Oasis on Tuesday.

Taylor took the 100-meter dash in 11 seconds and the 200 in 22.3, while Epperson won the 1,600 in 5 minutes, 8.9 seconds and the 3,200 in 11:35.6.

Desert Oasis’ Jake Benham won the shot put at 43 feet, 5½ inches, and the discus at 142-0.

Cooke leads Spring Valley to victory
At Sierra Vista, Jahi Cooke won the 110 hurdles in 16 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 46.4 to lift Spring Valley to victory in a four-team meet.

Spring Valley scored 114½ points, topping the host Mountain Lions (74½), Western (44) and The Meadows (32).

Sierra Vista’s Jordan Foster took the shot put at 41-4½ and the discus at 105-6.

Woodbury leads Eagles to victory
At Las Vegas High, Joe Woodbury won the 110 hurdles in 16.7 and the 200 in 22.3 to lead Boulder City to the win in a tri-meet.

The Eagles scored 69 points to outdistance Chaparral (55) and the host Wildcats (55).

Chaparral’s Carlos Berrelleza took the 1,600 in 4:55.2 and the 3,200 in 11:07.3.

Gators top Wolves
At Green Valley, Andrew Mantle and Allen Maddox each won two events to lead the Gators to an 85-56 win over Basic.

Mantle won the 400 (51.2) and 1,600 (4:45.2), and Maddox took the shot put (44-4½) and discus (144-4).

Basic’s Jake Rechenger won the 110 hurdles (16.1) and high jump (6-0), and teammate Quantavius Calvin won the 200 (22.7) and long jump (22-0).

Trio leads Panthers to victory
At Palo Verde, Nahjee Matlock, Thomas Johnson and Stephon Fitzgerald won two events apiece to carry the host Panthers to victory in a tri-meet.

Matlock took the 100 in 10.7 and the 200 in 21.7, and Johnson won the 800 in 2:05.3 and the 1,600 in 4:37.5. Fitzgerald claimed the 110 hurdles in 15.7 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 42.3.

Mojave’s Terrance Davis won the long jump at 18-2 and the triple jump at 38-2½.

Palo Verde scored 138½ points, topping Mojave (78) and Shadow Ridge (53½).
