21-year-old man arrested on kidnap charges in Minden

MINDEN -- A 21-year-old man is in jail on $332,000 bail after he was accused of snatching a 10-year-old boy from an outdoor Sunday school class and leading deputies on a car chase.

Douglas County sheriff's investigators arrested Jacob Wilcher on kidnapping and attempted sexual assault charges after the incident just before noon Sunday in Minden.

Church workers said they were holding a class outdoors when Wilcher approached the group, grabbed the boy and took him to the side of a building.

They said they found Wilcher taking off his clothes while holding the boy.

Wilcher reportedly fled to a vehicle and drove away before a deputy used his patrol car to stop him.
