33-year-old driver dies in crash

A 33-year-old man died Wednesday after driving a pickup onto a sidewalk and striking a business on Decatur near Charleston boulevards, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the man was not released. Police said they would not count the man's death as a traffic fatality within their jurisdiction until the Clark County coroner determines how he died.

Police said at 12:55 p.m. the Las Vegas man was driving a 2003 Dodge Dakota south on Decatur, at West Evergreen Avenue, when it crossed the center of the roadway and traveled southeast across the northbound lanes. The pickup then went over the east sidewalk and hit the corner of a business at 825 S. Decatur Blvd.

The man was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.
