Body located in Lake Mohave

The body of a 19-year-old man, who is believed to have drowned, has been located on the Nevada side of Lake Mohave, the National Park Service said.

Spokesman Andrew Muñoz said a diving unit with Las Vegas police is on its way to retrieve the body.

Muñoz said the body is 14 feet deep in water, 35 feet from the shore, at Fire Mountain Cove, between Nelson and Searchlight.

Muñoz said rangers were alerted to the possible drowning at 1:23 p.m.

Muñoz said the man was swimming with a group of friends when he went under water.

Muñoz doesn’t know if alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
