Bombing conspirator’s son arrested
November 13, 2008 - 10:00 pm
Joshua Nichols, whose father was one of two men convicted in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people, was arrested this week after police said he stole a Yamaha motorcycle.
Nichols, 26, was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Tuesday. He remained in jail Wednesday on one count each of grand-larceny auto and possession of stolen property.
Nichols is scheduled to appear in Justice Court at 7:30 a.m. today.
His father, Terry Nichols, is serving a life sentence for his role in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
This week's arrest is not the first time Joshua Nichols has had scrapes with law enforcement. In 2006, he was acquitted of attempted murder charges related to a 2005 incident involving two Las Vegas police officers. However, he was sentenced to 19 to 48 months in prison for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting an officer, battery of an officer and possession of a stolen vehicle in the same incident.
