City shuts down Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada

The city of Las Vegas has shut down the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada and suspended its business license indefinitely. Mayor Oscar Goodman said city officials entered the business at 700 Shadow Lane about 3 p.m. today, waited until six patients finished receiving treatment, and then took possession of the business license and locked the doors behind them.
The business -- where health officials say reusing syringes and vials was a "common practice" that possibly exposed 40,000 people to HIV and hepatitis strains B and C -- can appeal the city's actions.
