Coroner says Arizona toddler accidentally drowned in pond

A toddler found in a pond in Kingman, Ariz., on Monday died of an accidental drowning, the Clark County coroner's office has determined.

Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District Chief Pat Moore said the 20-month-old boy was unresponsive when department personnel responded just after 4 p.m. Monday.

Moore said the child had been pulled from a pond at a residence on Bond Street.

Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the boy, David Cantrall, was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center, then flown to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas.

The coroner's office said Cantrall died at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
