Fallon man kills self after shooting former girlfriend

FALLON - A Fallon man took his life Friday after shooting and wounding his former girlfriend earlier in the day, Churchill County sheriff's deputies said.

Investigators said the body of 56-year-old J.B. Williams was found inside a Fallon house after a sheriff's SWAT team entered it late Friday afternoon.

Williams is accused of shooting 42-year-old Leslie Come-Bowen at the house earlier Friday afternoon. She was taken to a Reno hospital with a nonlife-threatening injury.

Deputies said Williams went to the woman's house to pick up some personal property.

They said negotiators tried to talk him out of the house before he apparently turned a handgun on himself.
